We all want to have hot water when we are RVing, but not too hot. Many RVs come with a fixed water heater thermostat set on 1400F and that is just too hot for many people. If this is the case for you, watch Stew Oleson find out the solution: to exchange the fixed thermostat for an adjustable one so you can lower the temperature to where you find it comfortable.

People have wondered if this heater is easy to start. Seeing is believing … and since some rocket heaters are problematic to get started, I tho’t I’d do a video which shows everything I to to get it started. I do NOT have a “pilot” area in my chimney, as some rocket heater owners have. Watch and see how easy it is for my heater to get started. ( see other videos of other details of this heater, including short under-ground exhaust and my 9′ chimney )

12 Nov 11 The Poor Man’s Survival Heater

The Poor Man’s Survival Heater: How to make a free survival heater with items that you’d normally throw away. All that is needed is a small tin can, corrugated cardboard, and some old spent candles. It’s a good lightweight heater to take camping, backpacking, hiking, or to add to your bug-out bag. If there were some kind of disaster or SHTF situation, this little heater would come in handy. Not to beat a dead horse, but I want to reiterate that this heater is to be used outdoors to heat/boil water or cook food. The heater produces too much flame to be safely used inside a vehicle. You may want to keep some tea light candles for emergency vehicle use…those would be much safer and more manageable.

11 Nov 11 Large Solar Heater project.

This is the third solar heater I have been working on for a while. It’s made from a sliding glass door. I’m working on this for the winter months to keep the house warm. I’m currently working on the stand to hold this beast up in the back yard. I’m hoping with all 3 units my home will stay warm during the day without the help of the hvac unit during the winter.
