14 Aug 11 We need Code Enforcement in Phoenix, AZ – Vol I

In the Phoenix area of Arizona (Maricop County), we have a serious problem with the lack (or practically NILL) mechanical, electrical, and safety code enforcement. The HVAC industry is full of undertrained installers and technicians and just outright HACKS! The HVAC contractors easily hire installers and technicians and send them out to install and service the equipment with no one to ensure they are properly trained or certified to do the job properly. When I was an installer and technician in another area I was used to my employer pulling the required permits and having inspections. Each job had a county inspector go over the work and require us to correct any problems. When I moved to Phoenix I was stunned with what I was seeing. This area is a massive HACK-FEST and there is practically no regulation as to how any of these HVAC companies operate. The customer himself is the only person to look over the completed job. And at that point it’s the contractor’s word over the customer’s. If we only could get this area to enforce these HVAC contractors to pull a permit and have inspections, we could stop 90% of this crap. These improper installs create problems with the performance of the equipment (actual efficiency verus the advertised efficiency) as well as proper and safe access for the technician and safety for the end user.

10 May 11 All you need to know to own a guinea pig Guinea pigs cab eat~ Red Pepper (or green/yellow pepper. Red has the highest vitamin C concentration) Carrots – both the root and the green tops are perfectly safe for your guinea pig. Apples – just make sure they don’t have any seeds. Oranges Leafy greens like red lettuce, romaine, Boston lettuce, (be sure to feed leafy vegetables in moderation to avoid diarrhea, and feed spinach a bit sparingly to avoid potential kidney problems.) Cucumbers Broccoli (in moderation since it can be gassy and cause a gas pain) Green beans Grapes Bananas Dandelion Greens strawberries (in moderation) oranges or clementines. A helpful way to feed these to your piggie if they’re being picky is to scoop out some pulp from half an orange and leave some in it so they can lick it without needing to chew on it if they’re not diggin’ the texture. spinach cherry tomatoes in moderation cilantro dandelion greens parsley – either curly or flat. They love it and it smells delicious when you’re tearing some sprigs off the bunch to give it to them NEVER EVER WITH YOUR GP~ While guinea pigs do enjoy a variety of flavors and types of fruits and vegetables, there are some foods that you should never feed to your guinea pig. If there is an item that isn’t on this list or the one above and you’re not sure, it’s best not to feed it to your piggie until you can get verification from a vet. The good foods list isn’t comprehensive, so you may find some other online resources with more

Hello this is PlumberX. People always ask me what gave you the idea and what made you create these how to plumbing videos? Coming up with the idea was easy. After many years as a plumber and servicing customers at there home I’ve seen a lot of people in tuff situations, people that could not afford a plumber, people that didn’t have time to wait for a plumber to come to there home and make repairs, hearing horror stories of Plumbers that have rip off costumers and gave bad service, to me this was a loud cry for help. One story come to mind; A friend of mine calls me and ask, PlumberX could you do me a favor and help this older lady that I know, and go by and look at her Plumbing, she needs plumbing work really bad but she’s to scared to call a plumber because of the cost, and she know that if I send you over there to check out the plumbing she can trust me as a friend recommending you, sure I said I could do that. The next day came and I went to the older lady’s home she came to the door with a pleasant smile very humble. I could see it in her eye’s she didn’t have to say a word ( What is this going to cost ) she was very polite and courteous. Sir would you like some thing to drink and I do appreciate you coming to check out my plumbing on such short notice. No problem mam, lets see what’s going on here with your plumbing. This way Sir in the kitchen. As I walk through the home I saw in the corner of my eye younger children around 3, 5 and 6 years of age running around

19 Jan 11 Wood Heat Stoves: What you need to know

Melissa at Lehman’s talks about selecting, installing, and maintaining a wood heat stove

I’ve seen these stoves go for upwards of online. Being someone that prefers not to shill out cash for a piece if tin, I decided to post a how-to on making one of these stoves. As such, I’m not selling anything, I haven’t infringed on any copyrights so this info is completely free to use. Enjoy.
